Human Resource Assistant - Seattle, WAThe Human Resource Assistant is mainly responsible for performing administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Hudson Bay Insulation Co’s Human Resources department. The position works with employees in our WA (Seattle, Mount Vernon, Spokane, & Tri-Cities), OR (Portland), MT (Missoula, Billings, & Belgrade), ID (Boise), and CO (Denver) offices. This person will have daily interaction with field employees and office personnel.
Essential Functions
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
- Processes background checks, employee badging, employment verifications, and verifies unemployment claims
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Assists with payroll functions including auditing leave requests and answering employee questions
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, employee events, holiday parties, and birthday celebrations
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

- Base Salary Range: $27- $32 an hour (placement within the range is based on experience and qualifications)
- Group Medical/Dental/Vision/Basic Life, AD&D and EAP Benefits

- 50% paid by employer for dependents
- 401k Tax-Deferred Retirement Plan with 3% company safe harbor contribution
- Paid Vacation starting at 12 days per year
- 70 hours paid Sick leave per year

- Paid Bereavement leave (1 to 5 days depending on employee’s relation to the individual)

Essential Functions
- Support the coordination, management, and execution of projects for both the field and office
- Obtain detailed knowledge of the contract, drawings, and specifications for projects
- Measure, track, and report on project progress, issues, impacts, and wins
- Assist with cost forecasting and invoicing
- Assist with estimating and pricing of project changes and impacts
- Create, review, and manage project documentation, such as submittals and RFIs
- Ensure safety compliance of all on-site personnel
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of insulation product information and energy codes
- Identify which insulation products are ideal for various applications
Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other project related documentation required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint and OneDrive preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
